Al Green Montreal Jazz Fest

Not to rub it in but this is the kind of show that you only get one chance to see. I’m not even sure if Al Green has ever been in Montreal before.

Reverend Green, backed by 10 musicians and 2 dancers busting out classic Soul Train moves, took over the huge Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier (3000 seats) and transformed it into his church.

Sometimes seeing a music icon live on stage for the first time rather than listening to the perfect studio versions of his classics doesn’t live up the hype. This is not one of those times. The man can still hit all of the notes, sang most of his classics and some timeless covers (Temptations, Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Four Tops).

I Beliiiiiiieve!!!
