DJ PSYCUT presents “My Jazz Attitudes Classics”

Jazz

As you know, at MIMS we like to keep things very eclectic: one foot in the new, one in the old. So we love meeting and connecting with like minded crews and DJ’s from across the world with that same love for good music; in all its shades.

Psycut from France is definitely one of those dudes, very busy guy running a bunch of different projects like handling the Funk & Soul section of the mighty 22Tracks in Paris but also one of the guys behind the great Jazz Attitudes monthly night in Paris along with Koko and Switch “Groov” Exp. The night entertains and educates dancers with dancefloor jazz but also hip-hop, latin, acid jazz, broken vibes. A few of the previous guests were Mad Mats, Dusty, Lefto and we’re very happy to let you know that we will be playing there in Paris on June 15th! (Very excited!)

But while we wait for our first time in Paris, here is Psycut’s favorite classics to drop at his Jazz Attitudes night! (Check out the Jazz Attitudes FB Page Here)

Proper!

Danser’s Inferno – Sombre Guitar

@psycut: One of the best tracks combining Vocal Jazz with Latin influences. An amazing song full of emotion!

Danser's Inferno - Sombre Guitar

Izit – Everywhere pt 2

@psycut: A single released on an english label during the Acid Jazz glory years that has become pretty hard to find. The groove and orchestration have both aged so well!

Izit - Everywhere pt 2

J.A.M ft Jose James – Jazzy Joint

@psycut: When the Japanese Jazz scene meets Jose James, the hiphop / soul / jazz crooner. Vocal jazz + Rap + Scat = Dancefloor sure shot!

J.A.M ft Jose James - Jazzy Joint

Alex Dimou – Nina And The Band

@psycut: Killer Deep House track with an amazing Nina Simone sample

Alex Dimou - Nina And The Band

John Klemmer – Free Soul

@psycut: Sampled by Ed OG back in the day, this Psychedelic Funky Jazz track is huge and never leaves anyone indifferent.

John Klemmer - Free Soul

Orquesta de la Luz – Carnaval (12inch KJM Edit)

@psycut: Who ever said that the dope Salsa music can’t come from Japan? Maybe one of the best releases in the genre in the past 15 years!

Orquesta de la Luz - Carnaval (12inch KJM Edit)

Sonny Stitt – Slick Eddie

@psycut: A very good example of when a jazz musician tackles Disco Funk… with success.
