I sincerly wish to appologize to all my readers. It seems that I was gravely mistaken in a previous post featuring Dead Prez’s “Mind Sex” (link). In the post, I claimed that they were the first and only hip-hop group to ever rhyme croutons with futons, which is just lyrical geniusness! Well, it turns out I was wrong.
Paul McCutcheon commented on the post and set the record straight! So, it turns out that Oakland rap duo THE COUP were the first to use croutons with futon, aka the worlds best rap combo rhyme, back in 1996, four years before the release of “Mind Sex”. So. Until further notice, The Coup are now the kings of rhyming about salad.
