Forgotten Treasures

Forgotten Treasure: Peggie Blue “I Got Love” (1980)

Soul & Funk

We just released our fourth compilation of Forgotten Treasures (get it here). It’s filled with amazing selections as usual but I just wanted to fill you in on my person pick.

I remember picking up this album from a bin and looking at the cover thinking “This girl knows what’s up. Just look at her clothes and her reassuring smile. She’s totally saying ‘I got the funk'”.

The album has a few standout cuts, however the title track is my favorite due to it’s instantly catchy intro and combination of funky baselines, sweet wide-ranged “diva vocals” and the memorable chorus “I got love, I got to put it somewhere…”.
