Forgotten Treasure: Spice 1 “Strap on the side” (1994)
The G-FUNK theme of the week for our “Forgotten Treasures” selections. Some of these tracks have pretty violent images and lyrics, so I hope you can take it all in good fun as we do… Also, obviously we try to dig a little deeper than the obvious Ice Cube, Snoop, Dre and Pac classics here…
So for this one I thought I’d hit you up with a little Spice 1. Definitely a drive by classic, and not the Grand Theft Auto video game kind of drive by. The video is soooo cliché and depressing in its glorification of gangster life but I guess it’s another good example of the power that G-Funk had… Yeah the lyrics were talking about murdering you, but in a super smooooth way.
