Future Classic: King Most – Edits & Remixes

Soul

I was checking out the recent charts post and I noticed SanFran’s King Most added his suggestions. That’s when I realized that MIMS’ fam expanded wide and that good taste was only a few degrees of separation apart. The homie Most has been putting together stellar mixes with partner in crime MorseCode for awhile but when he was posting his “redirection” edits i just could not get enough.

I downloaded the “divshare” links and used them in my sets but soundcloud has made everything so much more accessible so here is just a sample of the man’s very precise edit work and original club friendly pantheon.

Wind parade is a classic track but it was always tricky to translate the vibe to the dancefloor. Well this dub’em down redirection is perfect. You maintain the sparsness and airyness of the original with the same drum snappyness as the tracks it was sampled in. Just a great groover that is sure to get a reaction

The simply beuatiful is a real tour de force making such a subtle and emotional track shine and transforming it into a slow jam to closeout a set is a very hard thing to do.

I love the original soul song that was reworked by mayer hawthorne but this edit with the clipse and ye verses put it over the top! Really good sequencing and chopping will have everyone comeup to the booth to ask you who that is.

As the 24 Hours of Vinyl event moves on to perhaps california I really hope to see KingMOst on the bill!
