True story about this one: Good homie and head of the Swing and Skip label HGLDT gave a copy of the white label to Julio Bashmore when I was playing with him this summer, but for some reason the vinyl ended up in my pile and I found it a few weeks ago in a bag. Sooo, I’ve been playing this release for a few weeks now already getting some very positive head nods at a few gigs of mine already!

The Montreal based Swing & Skip imprint drops its second 12”, featuring tracks from hotly tipped Manchester producer Damu, label head HGLDT and producer Resketch on the remix duties. Riding high from media attention, serious DJ support and two releases on Local Action Records and Keysound Records, Damu drops “2010” on the A side, a deep funky roller combining the producer’s trademark mix of house, garage and eski influences.

Label head HGLDT delivers “Knowing You” on the B-side, a smooth and melodic house/garage jam supported by the likes of Dusk and Blackdown. Finally, Resketch follows up from his appearance on Brighton’s Well Rounded Records label with a remix of “Knowing You”, going in for a deep and heavy garage/dub techno hybrid.

Available on crisp 12″ vinyl for now. Digital release soon.
