HYPNOTIC BRASS ENSEMBLE takes it to Montreal!

“…their music bridges the worlds of jazz and hip hop with perfect logic. Freestyle raps filled the gaps between anthemic horn work, creating a non-stop energy that left the Great Hall in a state of constant vibration. With Hypnotic Brass Ensemble the mood starts at “up” and, powered by full blast jams like “Kryptonite” and “World Champion,” winds up somewhere closer to “stratospheric.”

After welcoming large and ecstatic crowds young and old into the Hypnotic family in Toronto, London and Ottawa, the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble cross into Quebec today to headline Festival d’Été de Québec tonight, and Café Campus in Montreal on Wednesday July 13th.

If you haven’t heard of Hypnotic – they’re the biggest band you’ve never heard of. They’ve sold over a quarter of a million records independently with no major label support and anchored the Gorillaz world tour last year. For the past 4 years they’ve been dressed by G-Star Raw clothing. It is the innovation of G-Star’s clothing and of Hypnotic’s music that keeps the relationship together. The music is unparalleled in genre, combining New Orleans brass band jazz tradition with soul, soca, hip hop, rock and rap. Comprised of 8 blood brothers, sons of Sun Ra trumpeter Phil Cohran, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble is new music. Now music.
