Browsing around on some of my favorite sites and I stumbled upon this nugget on the always reliable site called Moovmnt.com from Amsterdam.
I love instrumental hiphop and abstract beats but in the last 2-3 years there have been sooo many releases and new artists that it brings the overall level down. But… when you hear something of this quality, it only takes 5-10 seconds and you realize that you’re not listening to a copy of a copy. Just judging on the “Outputs 2” release, KOEN‘s production relies on pretty straight forward boom bap drum programming but with very dreamy atmospherics and lush synths. For lovers of Apollo Brown, 14KT, Flako, Elaquent and so on…
