Mark de Clive-Lowe “One Take”

Jazz Soul

Part one of MdCL’s One Take series – recreating the club classic Hot Music by Soho from scratch, remixing it and deconstructing it over two and a half minutes… no prepared loops, all performed live in One Take.

MdCL uses: Yamaha Grand Piano, Native Instruments Maschine, Korg KP3, Novation Impulse

Part two of MdCL’s One Take series – flipping a vibe from ‘Brukstep’ – the full band version to appear on the forthcoming CHURCH album … no prepared loops, all performed live in One Take.

MdCL uses: Yamaha Grand Piano, Native Instruments Maschine, Korg KP3, Novation Impulse

Mark de Clive-Lowe (MdCL) is a multi-talented pianist, producer and live-remixer. The half-Japanese, half-New Zealander is now based in Los Angeles and over the past few years, his CHURCH clubnight has been a mainstay in both LA and NYC with guests ranging from contemporary jazz greats Eric Harland and Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, to hip-hop royalty Jean Grae and DJ Spinna, and legendary producers Questlove of The Roots and Leon Ware. Imagine a jazz club mashed up with a dance party siphoned through a hip hop sensibility and you’re starting to get some idea of what might be in store.
