‘No UFO’s’ single was the beginning of the solo career of Juan Atkins as Model 500 and one of the most important releases in techno history. It’s the first single on Metroplex Records, his label, back in 1985.
The ‘No UFO’s’ track represented the avant-garde of the electronic music of that time, and became one of the biggest influences of the early Detroit techno scene. The dark ambiance of the obscure bassline, strange synths and the sinister use of the vocals were very unique and still sound oh so fresh to this day.
