Future Classic: Moodymann “MOODY (i guess u never been lonely)”

Let’s get straight to the point: Moodymann just released a new video from the blackmahoganidetroit youtube channel and you need to watch it. “MOODY…(i guess u never been lonely) features Canada’s Junior Boys and it’s been a long time since I have heard them so “in their element”. The boys pair up nicely, in fact, if I had to guess I’d say they are lending a little more than just vocals on this track.

Kicking off with ethereal keys, a crunchy bass/hat combo and a dark acid house hook that stays focused, my attention was grabbed from the get-go. There is a lot to love here, from the jazzy drum breaks to the galactic synth lines to the almost too personal lyrics. Totally fresh. Did I mention the video adds to the mood?
