Forgotten Treasure: Prince Buster “Ten Commandments” (1967)

I was hanging out with good friends Kobal, Andy Williams and Serious Black last night, we were all djing at a Montreal Nuit Blanche event and after my set, Andy and Kobal played a back to back roots & reggae set. There were tons of amazing joints being played but one track had me vibing with the rocksteady beat and laughing at the super rudeboy lyrics!

On this 1967 gem, Prince Buster delivers his ten commandments to women. Yes, yes… I know the lyrics are suuuuper sexist but it was just a different time.
Commandment #11: Go make me a sandwich. Right now!

I ran into your post while trying to find the lyrics to this song. A friend of mine was telling me about how they played this at a cousins wedding. It would be great if you posted the B side to this record, “Ten Commandments From Woman To Man by Princess Buster. The female perspective is hilarious too. Thinking about using this at my wedding. LOL! Thanks for posting.
