Future Classic: She’s Got A Habit “Blind Spots” (INC Rub)

I played this track on my last podcast but I seeing as this is just such a incredible jam I felt I needed to share it on its own.

First off, you need to know about SHE’S GOT A HABIT, one Montreal’s most promising musical projects. What started out with producer / musician Martin Rodriguez and vocalist Emma Frank has developed into a 7 piece collective that has been turning some heads with the release of their first EP last year.

Now, in what has turned out to be a dream pairing, the group has gotten an outstanding remix from my good pal The Incubator (aka Scott C when he’s behind the decks). The remix is quite simply some of his finest work ever and that’s saying a lot because pretty much everything he puts out is good. The remix is just flawless, nice chopping of the original vocals, amazing broken beat drum programming, nice keyboard stabs… and then, to top it off the INC flips it about 4 minutes in into it and goes drops the 4/4 kicks.

One of the jams of 2011 so far for me…
