Exclusive Premiere: Naphta “Stalking Knights”
The latest offering from Poland’s Naphta is inspired by “Purple” Dubstep from Bristol.
Until now the basis of Naphta production was the creative use of samples, but this time the style of his work has changed.
Naphta snatched up electric and bass guitars, percussion, keyboards, and drum machines, completely giving up samples. Although we can still hear the inspirations of African music, Jazz, and electronic music, the directions on “Naphta & The Shamans” have shifted towards something totally new. “The base for this song was made for a video game that my friend developed, but I wanted to expand some of those ideas. Paweł Stachowiak from EABS came in with the amazing bass line and arpeggios near the end, giving it an almost pop-like character. This track reminds me how much I like 140 BPM – it’s a really flexible tempo.”
“Naphta & The Shamans” will be his second full-length album following his well received debut album “7th Expedition” released on Transatlantyk Records, and numerous EPs released on vinyl.
