My Favorite Things

MY FAVORITE THINGS – Show #03 (Hosted by Psycut)

Eclectic

My Favorite Things returns after a 2 month hiatus. This edition opens with the fantastic reedition of Gred Yoder with his track “Moondance” which sets the tone, halfway between Folk and Blue Eyed Soul.

Thundercat steps up with the lead single from his newest LP featuring Michael McDonald. The US West Coast, land of “AOR” but also to the more modern heavy funk beats from Devonwho. This same groove travelled across the ocean with Frankfurt Funk’s first 45 and a appearance on Bastard Jazz’s “Tempo Dreams”.

As in every edition of this series, Jazz + Hip-Hop are well represented with a track from The Quon and the last Jazz Spastiks record.

In a more modern take on the classic 90’s R&B vibes, Beverley Knight is back with the track “Red Flag” half-way between Synth-led Neo Soul and Gabriel Garzon-Montano’s “Diazpora”.

The mix concludes on the mellow and emotional vibes of Chip Wickham’s debut LP which is reminiscent of Jazztronik’s finest days.
