There’s something about Omar‘s voice that just conjures instant sunny vibes. Yes, the man Omar Christopher Lye-Fook has been blessing beats with his amazing voice since 1985. A well respected veteran in the UK, he is still somewhat under rated everywhere else.
It seems every spring these last few years, Omar comes through with a song that announces the beginning of the summer. Just think of last years’ “The Man” or his previous collaborations with Zed Bias / Maddslinky “Special” and “Dancing“. It’s no accident, the man just has that soaring voice that just grabs you every time. Doesn’t get much more sure shot than an Omar track.
For Simpatico (on Osunlade’s Yoruba Records), he jumps on a high quality production from DJ Fudge (ex-Trouble Men) & Hallex M. The kind of track that makes you think: Why can’t there be more House music like this? Why can’t there be more songs and less “beats”? Simpatico is a track that will work on the soulful deep house scene, the UK Funky and South African house scenes too i’m sure! An early summer anthem for sure.
