Future Classic: Hiatus Kaiyote “Breathing Underwater”

Beats Soul

Exquisite new song from the Australian quartet known as Hiatus Kaiyote OR as they like to label themselves: the Great Multi-Dimensional, Polyrhythmic Gangster Shit.

In our book, they are hands down the most original and inspiring Soul act in the world for the past 2-3 years. This new song titled “Breathing Underwater” should be enough to keep us waiting for their second LP, “Choose Your Weapon” which will be released on May 5th via Flying Buddha/Sony Music Masterworks.

If the record is half as good as the the cover art is, then it should be one of the best of 2015!

About Hiatus Kaiyote

Hiatus Kaiyote is a neo-soul quartet that formed in Melbourne, Australia in 2011.[1] In 2013, they were nominated for a Grammy for Best R&B Performance for their song “Nakamarra”, performed with Q-Tip, but lost out to Snarky Puppy and Lalah Hathaway’s recording “Something”.[2] The song appears on their debut album, Tawk Tomahawk, released by Flying Buddha. The quartet is fronted by vocalist and guitarist Nai Palm.
