Winner of The Art Of The Mixtape 2018: Mondi Possibili

We received a ton of fantastic entries for this year’s Art Of The Mixtape contest which made judging really quite tough. However, there can only be one!

Jake Stellarwell really took every aspect of the contest’s requirements into consideration when crafting Mondi Possibili. From the cover art, to the story behind the selections, and of course the selections themselves, we really felt like a lot of thought and care was put into this mix. It really evoked the feeling of a movie soundtrack, and transported us elsewhere. So on behalf of Dimensions & MIMS we’d like to congratulate Jake Stellarwell as the winner of the 2018 Art Of The Mixtape contest!

“The inspiration for this mix came from a trip to the Art Museum, a day at the lake and exploring the city of Chicago with friends – including it’s beautiful architecture and summer rains. I wanted the mix to flow nicely and have the feel of a soundtrack. All selections are from my vinyl collection, and the mix features personal field recordings, slight effects treatments from an RE-20 and a Laurie Anderson sample for good measure. Enjoy the warm, sometimes noisy, sound of vinyl!”
