The music landscape is facing tons of challenges which I won’t get into today. But one thing that isn’t lacking is the staggering amount of incredible new music out there.
This list of my 100 favorite titles of the year was really fun to put together and was another reminder how many artists and labels are pushing music in exciting new territories. I had the limit myself to what is available on streaming platforms. There are also tons of records I loved this year which are either only on Bandcamp or Vinyl (for example, my friend Raf Reza’s great “Ekbar” record, all of the contemporary reggae music being released by Local Dish, and many more)
Hope you make a few nice discoveries on this list. If you do, go out there and grab a physical or digital copy for yourself, it’ll be a great way to encourage these artists to keep the tunes coming 🙂
