Exclusive Premiere: Atlantis Jazz Ensemble “Enlightenment” (Forthcoming on Marlow Records)
After a nearly 7 year hiatus, it’s the return of the Ottawa-based collective Atlantis Jazz Ensemble with a new album “Celestial Suite”. Music is My Sanctuary is excited to present a special preview of one of the tracks from the upcoming album, titled “Enlightenment”.
Formed a decade ago by Pierre Chrétien and Zakari Frantz, both members ofThe Souljazz Orchestra, Atlantis Jazz Ensemble was created as an avenue for their artistic explorations in modal, esoteric, and spiritually influenced compositions. The latest album continues to delve into the musical territory influenced by 1970s Freddie Hubbard’s soul jazz and independent jazz labels such as Strata East and Nimbus.
