For this week’s show, I had my good friend David Ryshpan drop by for a all Brazilian set; on my counterpart, I started the show with a few slow jams, including one from .CASTING, an upcoming producer who just released a month ago his HEATWAVE EP.
I’ve played mostly all the tracks on previous shows, and “Ménage Trois” made the cut this week; it’s a sexy slowdown erotic tempo anthem, sprinkled with French female vocals that sounds like they’re from a forgotten Saint-Tropez LP. .CASTING demonstrates how he can transform classic boogie samples into new realms, and reminds us that future funk is not only about dance floor heaters.
