Future Classic: La-No & Jaël “Synthese” (Darker Than Wax)

For this week’s show, I had a few forgotten treasures that I picked up while in Europe, but I also wanted to expose this really heavy banger from LA-NO & Jaël, “Synthese” premiered a few weeks ago on Darker Than Wax, one of my favourite labels, based in Singapore and operated by the good homie and vinyl aficionado Funk Bastard.

This track is on some futuristic Funk, hard hitting drums sprinkled with some dope talkbox; the perfect anthem for the popping community. This heater will be featured on the 50/50 EP, where the 2 producers combine their eclectic styles to offer us a highly anticipated project.

Darker Than Wax has been pushing & promoting Modern Funk for a while now, along with Future Soul, Hip Hop, and their catalog is quite diverse, which definitely reflects the musical tastes of Dean Chew & Marco Weibel. Their “Free Downloads” series is a must, and they have an all-star roster, including Giorgio Oehlers, Moods, Beatsofreen, Neguim Beats & Melo-Zed, just to name a few. Make sure to check them out, in case you didn’t already, because DTW move steadily forward, with the right state of mind, with the right people.
