MIMS Guest Mix: Andy Compton (Lumberjacks In Hell / Peng, Bristol)

House / Techno

Deeply prolific Bristol-based house connoisseur Andy Compton has released over 31 albums and over 135 EPs, either solo or as part of his legendary group The Rurals.

South Africa has embraced Andy’s Deep House sounds, and because of his popularity over there, and albums released via EMI, SONY, WEA, and now Universal, he has done 20 South African tours in the past 5 years. “This mix was a vinyl set I played at a township called Kwa-Thema in South Africa last December, a mini outdoor festival with the most full on lightning storm and tropical rain throughout my set! I played my favourite wax from the ’90s through to 2000s, playing some of my own Rurals releases at the end. The vibe was magical!”
