Future Classic: Jackson 5 “Dancing Machine” (Daniel Crawford remix + Kon edit)

Soul

I can’t help but expect the worst when I see “remix” written close to a track of this magnitude… I mean, how can you top the original? It’s always a hard task trying to revise a classic song, especially when you change the mood from the original completely.

Los Angeles based musician/producer Daniel Crawford hit the spot with his new arrangement of the J5 smash hit “Dancing Machine”.

When NYC edit master Kon came across this track on bandcamp, he contacted Mr. Crawford and asked for the instrumental to spice it up and do his editing magic. The result is really surprising, giving a smooth and mellow vibe to the high energy party rocking track we all know. It basically gives a second life to this song, making it feel like it’s new again.

You can check out Daniel Crawford‘s bandcamp page for more J5 and Michael Jackson remixes, a Jay Dee tribute and his new album, “The awakening” with the collaboration of Amp Fiddler, Cleveland P. Jones and more.

Since his parents bought him a used "Pyramid" mixer more than 20 years ago, Kramos has always been a fiend to discover new music in every format possible and put mixes together. His first love was hip hop, but his tastes are now more eclectic than ever. The monthly show "Fresh Taste" with his friend MC Tank Pumpin' is proof of that.
