In just the past few years, i’ve had the chance to play with lots of artists I love and respect but most of all; all from very different scenes. UK Garage and Dubstep (the good kind) with people like Mary Anne Hobbs, Roska, Mount Kimbie, El-B, Zed Bias, Ramadanman. Beats and Hip-Hop stuff with great people like Samiyam, Dibiase, Onra, Teebs, Lefto. More organic and soulful stuff with people like Quantic, Mark De Clive-Lowe, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Nickodemus, Dam-Funk and finally good ol’ house music with fellow heads Julio Bashmore, Soulphiction, Lone and not to mention all the great Montreal people i’ve collaborated with…
I guess the main quality I have as a DJ is my versatility. I might not be known for one sound, but I more than hold my own in pretty much every genre that I enjoy… Anything from House, Uk Garage & Dubstep, Hip-Hop, Soul and Funk. Electronic or Organic. Abstract or Dancefloor oriented. It’s all about working the angles for me. Sometimes, it can be a disadvantage because people don’t know what to associate me with. It might not be good marketing-wise but all I’ve ever wanted to be associated with as a DJ is good music period
