Future Classic: Babyfather (Arca + Dean Blunt) “Meditation”
Hyperdub, the small but influential British label founded in 2004 by Kode 9 keeps up the pace this time with a project called Babyfather which features production by Arca and Dean Blunt (Hype Williams).
Most of Hyperdub’s biggest recent releases have been at the hyper speed tempo of Juke/Footwork music (Dj Spinn, Dj Taye, the Teklife compilation and Kode 9’s most recent solo album) but it is great to hear a release that has more in common with the early releases of King Midas Sound, Kode 9 or perhaps Steve Spacek.
Haunting soul music for the dark gloomy days and the never-ending cold nights. One you’ll want to own on 10″ vinyl!
