via Juno: London’s Moses Boyd has only recently surfaced on the scene, but already his Exodus label has gained the attention of online channels such as Boiler Room.
The debut release from both man and label is helmed by the supremely jazzy “Rye Lane Shuffle”, a wild and loose broken beat sort of juggler with plenty of energy and grit. The B-side “Drum Dance” goes deeper into the percussive twists, and adds something of a ‘worldly’ vibe to its bass tones and melodies. All in all, this is a pretty delicious pair of jazz-dance tunes, and a must have for fans of the whole Gilles Peterson dynasty…

The London Born Winner of the MOBO Awards 2015 Best jazz, 2014 worshipful company of music young jazz musician of the year award and Steve Reid innovation award Moses has worked and collaborated with the likes of Lonnie Liston Smith, Four Tet, Floating Points, Zara McFarlane, Giles Peterson, Soweto Kinch and many more. whilst leading his own outfits The Exodus and Solo Exodus.
