Broadstrokes Records Live Session In The Brownswood Basement

In this newly-released live session, Broadstrokes brings a calm, meditative air to Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Basement.

A classically trained organist and keys player, Broadstrokes is based in Nottingham in the UK. His musical dabblings include trumpet and bass, and his music is steeped in Jazz influences. His tracks often see soft, inviting melodies counterposed with brushes of discordance.

Performing his track ‘Clean’, it’s a gently-rendered version: embracing the silence which hangs between the notes, it’s soft, soothing and restorative.

Broadstrokes is an alumni of Gilles Peterson’s Future Bubblers program, a scheme to mentor new artists from across England and help them develop. Since then, he’s had a track featured on one of Peterson’s legendary Brownswood Bubblers compilations. He’s also got more music on its way, soon to be announced. And he’s going to be performing at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton, as part of a Future Bubblers showcase.
